Each Blackwing notebook is made with 160 100 GSM, acid-free, ruled, ivory sheets. The Blackwing Slate measures 5” x 8.25” in size.
Every Blackwing Slate is made with a durable, water-resistant polyurethane cover and dual-sewn binding. The canvas spine allows the notebook to lay flat for sketching, coloring, and creating.
We included a high-quality Blackwing 602 pencil. The pencil holster on the spine can hold your Blackwing 602 so that you’re never without your writing instrument.

Blackwing pencils were originally introduced by the Eberhard Faber Company in the 1930s. Their cult following included John Steinbeck and Chuck Jones, who proudly used Blackwings to create Bugs Bunny and many other Looney Tunes characters.
Despite this following, they fell victim to cost cutting measures of the 1990s and were discontinued. But, that didn’t stop devotees from paying as much as 40 dollars per pencil to seize unused stock. In 2010, our company drew from the nearly century of experience in the pencil business to access the best materials in the world and bring Blackwing back for a new generation of writers, musicians, and others seeking a more natural existence.
Today, a portion of every Blackwing sale benefits music and arts education at the K-12 level.
160 HIGH-QUALITY PAGES: Each of the 160 sheets in this notebook is made with 100 GSM, acid-free, ivory paper. The Blackwing Slate measures 5” x 8.25” in size, making it a portable pencil companion. This notebook comes in dot grid, blank, or lined pages that works great for bullet journals, pregnancy journals, daily journals, and for other types of creative uses.
INCLUDES BLACKWING 602 PENCIL: The Slate features a built-in elastic band as a pencil loop that comes loaded with a Blackwing pencil, so you’ll always have a pencil handy. The Blackwing pencil is made from genuine incense cedar, Japanese graphite, aluminum ferrule, and our iconic square pink eraser.
