On Wednesday, October 02, the Kingsport Fireplace Division reported that their Technical Rescue Group was working with a K9 Search Unit from the Murfreesboro Police Division to find flood casualties when K9 Kari led the group to a tree.
The Murfreesboro Police Department wrote, “A glimmer of hope amidst the flooding devastation from Hurricane Helene in East Tennessee, a canine stranded atop a 20-foot tree is safely rescued because of Murfreesboro Police Division’s K9 Kari.”
The Police Division reveals that throughout the search, K9 Kari, a five-year-old Bloodhound, started barking uncontrollably and led the group to a tree. There they discovered a canine perched excessive within the branches, sitting on a pile of particles.
Fortunately, the KFD firefighters discovered a ladder that was washed away by flood waters close by and used it to rescue the canine.
